Wedding Venue Hire
Harston Village Hall is available as a Wedding Reception venue during weekends. Our two hire periods for exclusive use are Friday 6.00pm to Sunday 11.00am or Friday 13.30pm to Sunday 16.00pm. This will allow you to set up the venue either the evening before the Saturday wedding or if daytime deliveries are required then Friday afternoon can be made available. Sunday morning or if needed Sunday afternoon as well, allows you to tidy up the venue, move the tables and chairs to their storage area and take down the decorations. We are not approved as a Marriage Licence Premises so you will have to use a Church or Registry Office before moving to the Hall for the Wedding Festivities. The Hall has a public entertainment license which permits music and dancing, but all entertainment must end by 11.00pm, all guests must leave by 11.30pm. A small working party to clear up can stay but must be off the premises by midnight. The main clear up can take place on Sunday. The whole building is a NO Smoking area. There are plenty of tables and chairs to use but to allow for the staging area dinning for 100 - 120 is more comfortable. If a buffet style meal is planned it can be set up in the Large Committee Room and with guests returning to the main hall slightly more people could be accomodated however there would be very little room for dancing. If you are providing any alcohol free of charge then there is no need to obtain a drinks licence however if guests have to pay for a bar even if it is organised by the hirer a Temporary Event Notice under Licensing Act 2003 will need to be applied for, but only after approval by the Booking Secretary. We do however have a prefered local supplier who will run a bar for you and get the necessary licence. They offer a mobile bar service based in Cambridge http://www.banquetinn.co.uk/ The hall has a fast FREE WiFi connection. The main hall has an audio system and noise limiter. Hirers can connect wirelessly by bluetooth, 3.5mm mini jack plug or XLR cable. There are hard wired microphones and wireless microphones available for use. There is also a fixed ceiling projector and motorised screen which can be connected to our audio speakers. Use of the projector is on application and can be connected to by HDMI from a lap top or bluetooth from a tablet or phone. Discos and non amplfied music is allow such as a barn dance however bands and groups are NOT allowed due to the residential location of the building. A noise limiter is in place which should be pointed out in any discussions you have with prospective entertainment. There are some other restrictions such as no candles with live flames or bouncy castles but our Booking Secretary can discuss all that with you when you visit to view the venue. If you are looking for outside catering or any catering equipment hire then one company we have successfully worked with in the past and are used to the venue is Gill Williamson of Cater Hire Email caterhirelimited@gmail.com Photography- Ben Davis of Cambridgeshire Wedding Photography has photographed Weddings at the Hall and these are some ideas on table layout.
Other Table Layouts Floor Plan - we hope the attached file will give some indication of the layout of the building for your planning purposes. To discuss bookings please contact: Booking Secretary on 07551 606621 email booking@harstonvillagehall.org.uk |
